Update 1.2.0 Announcement & Patch Note

Hello everyone!

Following the Winterfest and Springfest, comes the advent of the Summerfest! The Update 1.2.0 is to be released this August 10!

Along with the Springfest, there are tons of new exciting features to be added, including Endless mode overhaul, new commanders and legendary blocks, block balance changes, and auto-merge!

As always, thank you so much for your continuous supports on Merge Tactics. We will try out best to bring even more exciting features.

[Season Event - Summerfest]

  • The summer has come to Merge Tactics! To celebrate Summerfest, the overall theme is decorated like a cool summer.
  • Summerfest event pass is available during the event period, and the Premium Pass will contain a season-exclusive commander.
    • Event & Reward Claim Period (UTC):
      • Start: August 12, 2021
      • End: September 8, 2021
    • Event Pass:
      • Event Pass consists of 'Free Pass' and 'Premium Pass', and each track consists of various items and event loot chests you can claim.
      • Clear event missions, collect Coinages, and progress your event pass level!
    • Premium Pass:
      • In Premium Pass, you can unlock a season-exclusive commander 'Maia' and its exclusive equipment.
      • Premium Pass benefits:
      • Premium Pass Event missions unlocked
      • +1 Coinage for every event mission reward
      • Immediately progress your Pass levels
      • Trader's Refresh ads removed for the event period
    • Note:
      • You can activate Premium Pass and claim premium rewards any time during the event period.
      • To begin and participate in the event, you must be in the network connection and level 3 or higher.

[Endless Mode - Norbert League]

  • Endless mode is overhauled into a Norbert League!
  • Norbert League operates as a season-based competition system, where players compete for the highest number of waves for a week
  • Each season lasts for a week, and players receive season rewards based on their tier and ranking
  • Norbert League consists of 5 leagues, from Beginner Cup to Platinum Cup
  • Use your strategy to reach the maximum waves, advance to the upper league!

[New Blocks]

  • Frost Knight (Melee/Legendary)

    • A unit specialized to freezing effects. Deals extra damage on frozen enemies.
  • Longbowman (Ranged/Legendary)

    • A unit with extremely long attack range. Deals extra damage on magic units.

[New Commanders]

  • Alaka'i

    • Unlocked from the Premium Pass reward
      • Active skill: summon Coconut Soldiers in your territory
      • Passive skill: Increases friendly blocks' damage reduction
  • Catalina

    • Unlocked by spending Gems
      • Active skill: Generates a proportion of Silver by the total cost of friendly blocks in the field
      • Passive skill: A Trader appears at the end of a wave and offers a discount on Artifact prices
  • Gerald

    • Unlocked by spending Gems
      • Active skill: When you have only a few friendly blocks, casts fury on all friendly blocks
      • Passive skill: When you have only a few friendly blocks, restores their HP every certain turns

[New Equipment]

  • Added three 5-star exclusive equipment of each new commander
  • Exclusive equipment of Alaka'i cannot be acquired by crafting

[Gameplay & Balance]

  • Block
    • Adjust overall droprate and price of BP
    • Adjusted balance of certain blocks
      • Royal Guard, Shepherd, Engineer, and Lightning Wizard
        • Significant increase to overall stats and reworks of certain abilities
      • Archer
        • Increase to attack range and improvement of certain abilities
  • Artifact
    • Changed the appearance conditions of certain artifacts

[UI/UX Improvement]

  • Added a preview that provides information before entering the stage
  • When moving friendly blocks, their range is shown real-time
  • Added a skip feature where you could skip NPC dialogues
  • Added an auto-merge system
    • When your territory is full of blocks, merge friendly blocks on the field by clicking the block creation button
  • Changed certain quests and achievements due to the Endless mode overhaul
  • Improved the early gameplay experience
